HOW DOES A ‘HALF’ TEAM WORK?

We’ve always promoted our ‘your team, your way’ philosophy.

Our primary aim is to support people to reconnect and strengthen their mental wellbeing. Some members of our community have told us they would love to do the 100km distance, but are having a difficult time finding enough people to join them to put together a team.

So we’ve put together another option to help.

You can register half a team (3 members). This could be either:

  • 2 people walking 100km + 1 support person OR
  • 3 people taking in in turns walking (2 people on course each section and 1 resting/supporting)

We will then pair you up with another half team for the challenge so that you can support each other on course. The only condition is that each half team remains within 200m of each other on the trail so that you can help each other in an emergency. You must also arrive and depart each Wellness Stop together.

BEFORE REGISTERING

Team captains will need the following information before they can register the team:

  1. Full name and email address for each team member
  2. Team name
  3. What speed the team is aiming to walk at (this can be updated closer to the event), but will help us put you with the right partnerships
  4. Written confirmation from each team member that s/he agrees to terms and conditions and team captain signing on his/her behalf

We offer a payment plan, allowing you to pay the team registration fee in three parts.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE TEAM CHALLENGE HAS TO BE CANCELLED?

Firstly, the team challenge will NEVER become a virtual event. The whole purpose of the program is to complete the challenge as a team, and cross the finish line together.

We are in consultation with industry leaders who are monitoring the situation closely and part of the government round table discussions.

Given that:

  1. the challenge will occur entirely outdoors
  2. teams will start one at a time to maintain social distancing
  3. the number of teams we are registering have been reduced to meet limits of participants at Wellness Stops

current advice is that we continue to plan for March. If things change in the coming months, the challenge will be rescheduled to the dates listed below. When registering your team, please keep the following date booked out in your calendar so that you are available.

May 14-15, 2021 | October 22-23, 2021 | November 20-21, 2021 | March 27-28, 2022

Remember with this type of event, there are other factors that may mean we have to re-schedule (like a bushfire, high speed winds, flooding), so we always have to prepare for multiple scenarios.

If the team challenge is unable to go ahead on any of these advertised dates, teams will receive a 100% refund on program fees. This does not include third party fees related to booking (INTIX & Stripe as detailed above).
