RECOMMENDED
AMBULANCE COVER
It is strongly recommended that all participants have ambulance cover. In an emergency situation, our first aid provider or event staff will call an ambulance and you will be liable for the costs personally if you are uninsured. Get insured here.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
We have public liability insurance to cover the Team Challenge. This does not include Personal Accident Insurance for you. It is recommended that your arrange your own Personal Accident Insurance cover before participating to cover any unforeseen personal costs you may incur. A great option that covers you for both training and event day for only $10 is available via Athletics Victoria – you can learn more here.
ADDITIONAL GEAR
These items are recommended but not compulsory. They can be left with family & friends acting as support crew and collected at Wellness Stop sites.
Change of Clothes
we recommend having a change of clothes not just for the weather you think it is but for all weather, you never know how quickly the weather can change.
Quick Dry Clothing
we recommend wearing clothing that is quick drying, if it is wet or hot this will keep you as comfortable as possible in those conditions
Lightweight Rain Jacket/Poncho
you never know when the rains will come so be prepared, we also recommend it has a hood
Compression Garments
compression garments can help with delaying muscle soreness and improve blood flow
Spare Socks
bring socks that fit your feet and shoes well. These should be tested prior to the challenge to make sure they don’t fall down and are comfortable with the shoes (including any spare shoes) that you will be wearing. Getting a good running or trail sock is recommend as they seem to be more breathable and are more likely to keep moisture away.
Spare Shoes
shoes that are well broken in can help if blisters develop, changing shoes will hopefully change where the pressure points are on your foot and will stop rubbing on blisters. Also a great back up if your primary shoes become broken.
Beanie & Gloves
just in case it gets cold
Hat & Sunglasses
just in case it is sunny.
Towel
great to wipe away dampness from the skin.
Walking Poles
only if you have trained with them – don’t introduce anything new on challenge day.
Protective Pouch
to water protect items such as your phone and the event guide
