A BRAND NEW MINI COURSE FOR 2022

In 2022 our amazing teams will journey around the stunning ?? in Victoria. Travelling down the beautiful and dedicated Rail Trail, this simple course has magnificent views and a chance to explore some of the hidden treasures of the region.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

With a quick trip to the famous Beechworth Bakery for registration. The Section starts around the corner at the now disused Beechworth Railway Station.  Beginning the walk through the avenue of trees and along into the openness that the region offers.

The Beechworth to Everton station section of the walk follows the Rail Trail. This 16km section is all down hill and encompasses the sights, sounds and smells of classic Australian bush, steep cuttings and heritage brick bridges and this section of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail a beautiful experience.

With an intermediate rest stop along the trail at 10km to rest and relax before moving on through the trees towards Everton Railway Station.

2710 Great Alpine Road, Bowmans Forest

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Leaving the Everton Railway Station and now walking the main Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. Passing through the farming lands, with the high chance of the young lambs running around the paddocks.  The trail passes along the valley floor with the surrounding mountains dominating the horizon.

After crossing the Great Alpine Road, the farming land continues, but the sheep are replaced by the bovine herds. The tree lined trail follows besides the roadway and ends at one of the most restful locations for a break.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course winds between the farms and away from the road as it climbs towards the pass at Taylors Gap. Take a moment to rest before heading back down and into Gapsted.  Enjoy the stunning bushland and the cuttings along this section, with the creek forming a beautiful path along the side of the trail.

The rural cricket ground of Gapsted is the final destination of this section.  The local cricket club are so enthusiastic for your visit they are trying to schedule a game for your entertainment.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

After being bowled over by the Gapsted cricket club, the final section takes you along the path and into Myrtleford.  The deciduous trees that line this trail bring a flood of tourists in the Autumn to see the colourful drop of the leaves, but the new growth of the Spring time will be just as beautiful.

Crossing over the Barwidgee Creek and passing the Historic Log Tobacco Kiln, the final steps will bring you into the cheers from fellow participants as you enter Club Savoy and our finishline party.  Make sure to pre-book the dinner, so you can stay and enjoy the fun.  Should we hire a Karaoke machine?
