30km SECTION DETAILS

30km COURSE

The 30km teams will depart from the village township of Bruthen on their journey to Bairnsdale. They will be the leaders of the course, moving through the sections ahead of the 60km and 100km teams.

The 31km distance (yes, it’s a touch more than 30km!) is perfect for those who would like to participate outside of the speed restrictions of the other two distances – so those who would like to run the course, or those who would like to walk at a pace less than 4km/hr. Please just let our team know in advance.

There is also the opportunity to change the number of members on your team. Just contact team@greataussiehike.com.au and we’ll help you get organised.

30km COURSE WOULD SUIT:

  • people who are starting the training program from a low fitness level.
  • those who have a pre-existing injury or health condition that prohibits them from taking on a longer distance.
  • those who have a 1-2 month window of time to train and prepare.
  • those who are looking for a great experience with their team of family and friends.
  • people from the local area who usually travel to Melbourne to complete in a half or full marathon and would like to enjoy an event closer to home.
  • teams wanting to support the East Gippsland community.

30km TEAM OPTIONS

Due to the shorter distance, 30km teams do not have the same team options as 60km and 100km teams. All members of the 30km teams will walk the entire distance. There are also no support crew access points, as team will be able to carry whatever supplies they require.
